Black Duck Charolais
Black Duck Charolais is a boutique stud focusing on strong, sound and genetically balanced cattle. Located on 500 picturesque acres at Junction View in the Lockyer Valley, South East Queensland — nestled at the foot of the Great Dividing Range, approximately 30 minutes from Gatton.
Founded by Greg Nicholson in 2009. Our herd is built on strong foundations, with genetics heavily influenced by the renowned Palgrove and Charnelle bloodlines. We place a strong emphasis on reproductive technology, regularly using artificial insemination and embryo transfer to accelerate genetic progress and performance.
Our focus remains on breeding structurally sound, fertile, and easy-doing Charolais cattle that perform in real-world conditions.

A National Cattle Health Declaration is provided with every sale, verifying all treatments given and supporting your local herd health plan.

Situated west of Brisbane in the Lockyer Valley, our property is approximately 30 minutes drive from the township of Gatton. We are on 500 rolling and picturesque acres at the base of the Great Dividing Range.
The property is broken into 20 paddocks with careful thought put into shade and water for each individual paddock. All lower paddocks are serviced by underground mains and bore water to troughs and for irrigation.
The rolling hills at the top of the property have lightly forested areas with extensive work being completed on revegetation and a variety of grass seeds to constantly improve pasture.
